“I appreciate being able to focus on the whole person – body, mind and spirit – as well as taking in to account what’s going on around the patient.”

Julie Johnson, MD

I chose family practice because I enjoy having personal connections with my patients through all stages of life. Being able to take care of generations within a family is a privilege. I appreciate being able to focus on the whole person – body, mind and spirit – as well as taking in to account what’s going on around the patients. My approach with patients is not just to look at one organ or system, but to put the big picture together. My special interests include women’s medicine and life transitions.

As Medical Director for HealthPartners Central Minnesota Clinic, I have the challenge of balancing my leadership and clinical roles, both of which I enjoy. In my clinical role, I share the decision-making process with patients. It’s important to me to be part of the patients’ journeys in life, and I’m glad to help them find the right options for care.

In my spare time, I like scuba diving with my family, biking, baking with my daughter, and traveling.
