“I have always had a strong interest in prevention, encouraging patients to prevent problems instead of having to deal with them later.”

John Sebas, MD

I came to family medicine because I was drawn to care for the whole person. Some of my medical school experiences guided me to this choice, showing me the importance of treating patients with deep respect. After training on the East Coast, serving in the National Health Service Corps in Georgia, then teaching family medicine residents in Connecticut and Ohio, I settled in St. Cloud and have been working with patients at HealthPartners for more than 20 years.

I have always had a strong interest in prevention, encouraging patients to prevent problems instead of having to deal with them later. As my patients have grown older, my skills have evolved in all areas, from pediatrics to geriatrics. Caring for the whole person means finding ways to manage a wide variety of problems, from high cholesterol to depression and anxiety. I’m dedicated, hard-working and a good listener, providing the best care I possibly can.

In my spare time, I like to go to the gym, ride my bike, observe the stars and play chess. I have a lot of loves, but as a life-long learner, reading is my biggest love, especially reading nonfiction.
